Sign-in and account problems
Fix Qualflare sign-in problems: single sign-on errors, two-factor setup at sign-in, locked or deactivated accounts and access errors, with each exact message.
Last updated
When you can't sign in to Qualflare, the sign-in page shows the reason: single sign-on is required, two-factor setup is due, the account is deactivated, or too many passwords failed, which adds a CAPTCHA; this page lists each message.

Passwords and lockouts
After repeated failed sign-ins for one email address, from any network, password sign-in asks for a CAPTCHA before it checks the password, until the next successful sign-in.
| Message | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
Invalid email or password. | The email address or the password is wrong | Check both, or reset your password |
Your account is temporarily locked. Try again later. | Too many failed sign-ins for this address from your network | Wait, or reset your password |
Too many failed password attempts for this account. Reset your password to sign in again. | After many failed password checks, the password is refused even when it's right | Reset your password. A passkey, Google, GitHub or single sign-on sign-in still works |
For your security, this password can no longer be used to sign in. Reset your password to continue. | Qualflare retired the password because it may be compromised | Reset your password |
We couldn't run the security check. Make sure challenges.cloudflare.com isn't blocked by an ad blocker, VPN or network filter, then reload the page and try again. | The CAPTCHA couldn't load | Allow challenges.cloudflare.com, then reload |
Too many requests. Please try again in a moment. | Email and password: too many requests from your network | Wait a moment |
Too many sign-in attempts from your network. Wait a minute, then try again. | Google or GitHub: too many attempts from your network | Wait a minute |
Too many single sign-on attempts from your network. Wait a minute, then try again. | Single sign-on: too many attempts from your network | Wait a minute |
A new password needs 14 to 256 characters, and Qualflare refuses common and breached passwords.
Setting a password from a reset email signs you out everywhere, revokes every access token you created, in every project, and disconnects any sign-in provider you linked since your oldest unexpired session signed in. CI pipelines that use your tokens stop working until you create new ones.
To reset your password, click Forgot password? on the sign-in page, then Send reset link, and open the link in the email. It expires in 60 minutes, and if you asked more than once, only the most recent link works. See Change your password.
Email verification
An email and password account signs in only after you confirm its email address. Until then, sign-in opens Verify your email: open the link in the email from Qualflare, or click Resend email. The link expires in 60 minutes, and if you asked more than once, only the most recent link works. A password reset confirms your email too.

Verify your email address, then sign in again. | Open the verification link, then sign in again |
An account with this email address already exists but isn't verified yet. Check your inbox for the verification link, verify your email address, then sign in again. | Verify the email address of your Qualflare account, then sign in with Google or GitHub again |
Signing up again with an address that has an account creates no second account: Qualflare sends the address an email with the subject You already have an account, with a sign-in link and a password reset link.
Single sign-on
When single sign-on fails, the sign-in page names the reason and what to do.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
Your organization requires single sign-on for this account. Enter your work email address below and select Continue to go to your identity provider. If that doesn't take you there, contact your workspace owner for the sign-in link. | Enter your work email address and select Continue. If that doesn't work, ask your workspace Owner for the sign-in link |
Your identity provider signed you in, but this account isn't a member of any workspace that uses this single sign-on. Ask your workspace owner to invite you. | Ask a workspace Maintainer or Owner to invite you |
Your email address's domain isn't verified for single sign-on with this workspace yet. Contact your workspace owner. | Ask your workspace Owner. Only the Owner can verify domains, under Verified Domains |
An account with this email address already exists but isn't verified yet. Check your inbox for the verification link, verify your email address, then sign in with single sign-on again. | Open the verification link in your inbox, then sign in with single sign-on again |
Single sign-on failed. Please try again, or contact your workspace owner if it keeps happening. | Try again. If it keeps happening, ask your workspace Owner to check the connection |
Too many single sign-on attempts from your network. Wait a minute, then try again. | Wait a minute, then try again |
This workspace requires single sign-on. Sign in with your organization's SSO, or contact your workspace owner for the sign-in link. (on an invitation) | Sign in with single sign-on, then accept the invitation |
Signing out of Qualflare doesn't sign you out of your identity provider, so on a shared computer, sign out there too.
If your workspace locked itself out, its Owner emails support: see Recovering from a lockout. The Owner sets up the connection: see Set up with your identity provider.
Google and GitHub sign-in
When a Google or GitHub sign-in fails, the sign-in page says why.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
An account with this email address already exists. Sign in the way you usually do, then connect this provider from your account's Connected accounts page. | Sign in the usual way, then connect the provider |
Google reported a security problem with this Google account, so signing in with it is paused. Sign in another way. It works again once Google restores the account, or after you reconnect Google under Account settings → Connected Accounts. | Sign in another way |
Your Google or GitHub account has no verified email address. Verify it with the provider, then try again. | Verify the email at Google or GitHub, then try again |
Sign-in was cancelled. Try again, or choose another way to sign in. | Try again, or sign in another way |
Two-factor authentication
When a workspace you belong to requires two-factor authentication and your account has no second factor, you set one up the next time you sign in, before you can get in. After a Google, GitHub or single sign-on sign-in, the page then says Two-factor authentication is set up. Sign in again, the same way as before, to continue., or Your two-factor setup expired or was already used. Sign in again, the same way as before, to start it over.

Invalid or expired code. | Enter the code your authenticator app shows now. If the page has been open a while, sign in again |
Too many incorrect codes. Use a recovery code, try again later, or reset your password. | Use a recovery code, try again later, or reset your password |
An invitation to such a workspace says This workspace requires two-factor authentication. Set it up on your account, then come back here and accept. Set up an authenticator app, then accept.
Lost your authenticator app? Use a recovery code: see Turn off the authenticator app. If you've lost every second factor and every recovery code, contact support from the account's email address; support checks your identity before it removes your second factors, and that signs you out everywhere.
For how a workspace requires it, see Require two-factor authentication.

This account has been deactivated. To restore it, contact support from the email address the account uses. means the account can't sign in any way, and only Qualflare support can restore it. An account is deactivated when:

To restore it, email support from the address the account uses, as When to contact support describes.
