Tags
Create workspace tags in Qualflare and add up to 5 to a test case: the Slug, Title and Description fields, who manages tags, and what deleting one removes.
Last updated
This page lists every field, rule and action of tags in Qualflare: a tag belongs to the workspace, its Editors manage the list on Tags, and each test case carries up to 5 tags.

Tag fields
A tag has three fields, which you fill in when you create it.
Slug
The slug identifies the tag: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, at least 3 characters and up to 100, with no hyphen at the start or end and no two in a row. The Create Tag dialog accepts those hyphens, but the save then fails. A slug is unique in the workspace and can't be changed after you create the tag.
Title
The title is the name the tag box and the test case show, 3 to 100 characters.
Description
The description says what the tag is for. The app asks for at least 3 characters.
Create, edit or delete a tag
Editor+ · workspace (requires the Editor role or higher in the workspace)To create a tag, open Tags in the workspace sidebar, click Create Tag, fill in Slug, Title and Description, and click Create.
To edit a tag, open its ⋯ menu and click Edit. In Update Tag, change Title or Description and click Save; the Slug field is greyed out.
Deleting a tag removes it from every test case
Delete in a tag's ⋯ menu deletes it at once, with no confirmation, and removes it from every test case in the workspace's projects. There is no undo.
To delete a tag, open its ⋯ menu and click Delete.
Tag a test case
Editor+ · project (requires the Editor role or higher in the project)To tag a test case, open the case and click the tag box in its header, which reads Add tags... while the case has none. Search by the tag's slug, not its title, and pick it. The box closes after each pick, so open it again for the next one, up to 5; at 5, the other tags are greyed out. Pick a selected tag again to remove it. The box saves by itself.
Create tag, under New Tag, opens the workspace's Tags page. The case's Change log tab records each tag added or removed (Review a case's history).
Tags on case runs
Uploaded results can carry their own tags, which show as Tags on the case run; they aren't workspace tags and don't appear on the case.
Errors
The Create Tag dialog shows these messages under a field:
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
A minimum of 3 characters is required. | Enter 3 or more characters in Slug, Title or Description, whichever shows it |
Name must contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. | The message says Name but means Slug: use only lowercase letters, digits and hyphens |
A slug the workspace already has can't be saved, and neither can a slug with a hyphen at the start or end or two in a row. The dialog closes before the save is refused, so an error message appears and what you typed is gone: click Create Tag again and enter another slug.
What tags don't do
Tags in Qualflare have these limits:
- Browse and Explore have no tag filter.
- No project setting requires or restricts tags.
- The app tags test cases only. The Tags page's subtitle also names launches and defects, but no screen tags them.
- Imports from other tools don't bring tags (What gets imported).
- No qf command, public API endpoint or MCP tool reads or sets tags.

Explore Cases and saved queries
Search and filter every test case of a Qualflare project on Explore Cases, switch to the AI filter, and save, load and update filters as saved queries.
Import and export test cases
Import test cases from Qase, TestRail, Testmo or Allure TestOps, and export your suites as a ZIP of CSV files. Qualflare can't re-import its own export.
