Explore Cases and saved queries

Search and filter every test case of a Qualflare project on Explore Cases, switch to the AI filter, and save, load and update filters as saved queries.

Last updated

To search every test case of a Qualflare project, whatever its suite, open Explore and filter the list; saving the filters as a named query needs the Editor role or higher in the project. The page is titled Explore Cases; qualflare.com calls it the Test Case Explorer.

Before you begin

Viewer+ · project (requires the Viewer role or higher in the project)
  • Saving queries and editing or cloning cases need the Editor role or higher, and deleting cases needs the Owner role.
  • For the filter syntax, see Search, filters and shortcuts.

Filter the cases

Click Explore in the project sidebar (compass icon). You see a searchable, sortable table of all test cases with filtering controls. The filter bar includes:

FilterOptions
StateActive only, today. The other options, Pending, Inactive and Archived, are not case states and match no case. To filter Draft, Review or Outdated cases, use the State filter on a suite's Test Cases tab.
Prioritycritical, high, medium, low
Test Typeunit, regression, integration, e2e, api, performance, smoke, and more
Automationautomated, manual
Searchtext search on case name

Select one or more values in each filter to narrow results. Filters combine with AND logic — all conditions must match.

Filter every case of the project by priority, test type, automation or name. State matches only Active today.

For natural language filtering, click the Quo icon at the right end of the filter bar, or type / in the empty bar, to switch to AI filter mode. See AI-Powered Filtering.

Click the Quo icon, or type / in the empty bar, to describe a filter in plain language.

Work with the results

The results table shows each case's Name (with its status icon and number), Priority, Suite (a link to the suite), Date Created and Date Updated. Click a case name to open the case panel. The row ⋯ menu has Edit and Clone (Editor role) and Delete (Owner role).

Select cases with their checkboxes for bulk actions. Bulk Delete asks you to confirm. Archive isn't available on Explore yet.

Save a query

Editor+ · project (requires the Editor role or higher in the project)
  1. Apply your desired filters to the table
  2. Click Save Query (purple button next to the filter bar)
  3. Enter a name for the query
  4. Click Create

Saved queries belong to the project: everyone who can open it sees them in Saved Queries, sorted by name.

Save the current filters as a named query that everyone in the project can load.

You can attach a saved query to a test plan on its Dynamic Queries tab, but it doesn't add cases to the plan's runs yet. See Test Plans Reference.

Load a saved query

  1. Click the Saved Queries dropdown (next to the Save button)
  2. Search or scroll for your query
  3. Click it to apply the filters

Update a saved query

After loading a saved query, adjust the filters. Two options appear:

  • Update Query — overwrites the saved query with the current filters
  • Save As — creates a new query with a different name, leaving the original unchanged

Sort and page through results

Click any column header to sort. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to navigate large result sets.

Verify

The Saved Queries button shows the query's name, and the filter bar shows its filters.

Troubleshoot

  • State Pending, Inactive or Archived returns no cases: those options are not case states. Use the State filter on a suite's Test Cases tab.
  • Bulk Archive answers Archive coming soon: archive cases from Browse or a suite's Test Cases tab instead.
  • Save Query is greyed out: saving needs the Editor role or higher in the project.
