Archive and delete
What archiving and deleting each Qualflare item removes, from test cases, suites and launches to milestones, projects and the workspace, and who can do it.
Last updated
In Qualflare, archiving hides a test case or suite and keeps its history, while deleting is permanent: nothing you delete can be restored in the app, and deleting one test case also deletes every suite in the project that has no cases left.

Test content
Test cases
Deleting a case is permanent. It also deletes the case's steps, comments, attachments, tags, defect links, its place in test plans and every result recorded for it in past launches. Any suite left with no cases is deleted too, and that covers every empty suite in the project, including ones someone just created. A single delete from a case row's ⋯ menu doesn't ask you to confirm. To keep a case's history, archive it instead.
Archive a case from its row's ⋯ menu, and turn on the Archived filter to find it again. See Delete a case.
Test suites
Deleting a suite permanently deletes all of its test cases and every result recorded for them, including the suite's runs in past launches. There's no option to keep the cases, and it can't be undone. Deleting a suite from its row menu doesn't ask you to confirm. To hide a suite and keep its history, archive it instead.
Archiving a suite also archives every case in it, and unarchiving the suite unarchives them. See Delete a suite.
Shared steps
Deleting a shared step permanently removes it and its steps. You can't undo it.
You can't delete a shared step while any test case uses it: Qualflare answers cannot delete shared step while it is used by <n> step(s). See Delete a shared step.
Tags
Editor+ · workspace (requires the Editor role or higher in the workspace)Deleting a tag removes it from every test case
Delete in a tag's ⋯ menu deletes it at once, with no confirmation, and removes it from every test case in the workspace's projects. There is no undo.
The app tags test cases only, but deleting a tag on the workspace Tags page also removes it from any launch or defect that carries it. See Tags.
Runs and planning
Launches
Deleting a launch permanently removes it with all of its suite runs, case runs, attachments and comments, and removes its failures from Failure Clusters. There is no undo. Delete in a row's ⋯ menu on the Launches list deletes the launch at once, without asking you to confirm.
See Delete a launch.
Milestones
Deleting a milestone permanently deletes every launch linked to it, with all of their suite results, case results and comments. Test cases and defects are kept. This can't be undone, and the confirmation doesn't mention the launches. To close a milestone and keep its launches, complete it instead.
See Complete or reopen a milestone.
Test plans
Delete in a row's ⋯ menu deletes the plan at once, with no confirmation and no undo. The detail view's Delete and the bulk Delete ask first. Deleting a plan doesn't delete the launches you ran from it.
See Delete a test plan.
Environments
You can delete an environment only when no launch uses it. Otherwise Qualflare refuses and shows:
environment "<identifier>" still has N launch(es); deleting it would permanently remove them and all of their results. Delete or reassign the launches first.Project and workspace
Projects
Deleting a project removes it and every test case, suite, launch, defect, and milestone in it, for everyone. You can't undo it or restore the project in the app.
To delete a project, you need the Owner role in the workspace and in the project. The Delete Project card shows only to the project's Owner (the person who created it), and the deletion succeeds only for the workspace Owner. See Delete a project.
The workspace
You can delete a workspace only after you delete every project in it. Deleting a project permanently removes its test cases, suites, launches, defects and milestones. Deleting the workspace then removes it for everyone. You can't undo either step in the app.
While a project is left, deleting the workspace fails with cannot delete workspace while it has projects.
See Delete Workspace.
Your account
Delete Account deactivates your own account at once and permanently erases it 30 days later, and Qualflare refuses while you hold the Owner role in a workspace. See Delete your account.
